I had slowed down (actually, stopped) posting on my blog lately… After the “25 Things” post, which was a challenge, I have been busy trying to figure out how to drive traffic to my blog.
I’ve chosen two forums for my endeavor: theĀ Warrior Forum, which is one of the widest-known places in the IM field, and Associate Programs.com. I’m sure there might be other places where to go, but for the sake of simplicity, I decided to keep my efforts within comprehensible boundaries.
I started by choosing the threads that were most recently started and also had the fewest replies, my rationale being that if I got in them early, more later-to-come readers would go through my reply and hence see the links in my signature. Also, if the topic was started as a call for help, I could fulfill the need of the topic starter and make a head-start toward his/her confidence.
But lately I have started to participate in threads that have plenty of replies, considering that there would be more of a chance for my reply to be seen given the interest the thread generated. That is, provided long threads are read and the topic maintains that interest…
In any case, going through the forums has turned out to be learning opportunity and it has also confirmed what Alex said in one of the modules: that we can be a little bit ahead of others and thus be of their help.

Hi Jose,
What a great post-very timely! Keep up the informative posts! I found your blog through the links that Rob provided, because I am a fellow student of yours in not only his class and Alex’s class. You have some really good points about which threads to jump in and post on…I was with you all the way when you talked about hitting the new ones. BUT…when you mentioned participating in established, popular threads, I definitely understand that way of thinking, too. You’ll need to let us know how it goes, because that’s something on my ‘to do’ list, unfortunately that list is a wee bit big.
I wish you all of the success in the world, Jose-take care,
Joann

Joann, glad to have you here! And thank you for the nice comment.
Hey, my ‘to-do’ list is big too yet now that I’m going through Module 7 I’m re-doing it. Re-doing the ‘to-do’… sounds funny, doesn’t it?
Been to your blog and liked it a lot, will need to go back!
Jose
Hi Jose,
I’m glad to see you posting again. It is understandable that you were busy in the forums and thus had less time for your blog.
I joined the W forum too but only lately and have yet to start participating.
I also joined another forum geared towards blogging and learning about it. There is a small monthly fee of $1.95 but I think it is well worth it.
If you think you might be interested let me know and I’ll send you the info.
About the Warrior forum -when I was signing up I think they tried to get me sign into a paid portion of it. I didn’t bite, at least yet.
How about you?
You can send me an e-mail anytime if you feel so inclined. If you have a Skype address perhaps we could exchange a few ideas that way.
Vance

Hey Vance, glad to see you again!
I need to balance my efforts so posting does not fall behind my meddling in forums.
I am not using the paid service of the W forum, since so far I have just been participating in threads. But I see the advantage of paying for those who have products to promote: a Warrior Special Offer, WSO, is a very effective way to market, given the enormous audience of the forum.
I would certainly be interested in that other forum you mentioned, would you kindly PM me the details?
I’ll let you know my Skype address.
Straight to your blog!
Jose
